Here’s an excerpt from a piece on alternet by a writer named John Dolan:

“…most of the hardcore academic progressives I’ve known have tin ears. Their sheer awfulness is adaptive within the academic ghetto, in the way that a lack of any olfactory ability is adaptive for carrion eaters; but it’s disastrous when they try to talk to people outside their guild.”

This guy’s article is right on and worth a read. Kerry did botch it, most of the inellectual Left (oxymoron?) sound like the adults in a Charlie Brown cartoon and we’re too busy looking for small bits of lint on our cumberbunds to successfully block those kicks to the groin the Neocons keep serving up.

I don’t know about you, but Dubbyah’s whining and screeching about his plan to bail out his friends on Wall Street…er, I mean his plan to save his war chest cash cow… crap, I mean his brilliant plan to save the miserable economy he and his cronies help to destroy sounded so much like a small, pitiful brat surrounded by huge, looming shadows and weakly crying wolf to several million deaf ears that it made me ill. He’s screaming about giving taxpayer cash to bailout rich, public-raping firms while offering no regulation, no payback to the people, nothing but a big fat check with no oversight or penalties, OR ELSE! He’s throwing out comments about how bad things will get if we don’t give them what they want, as if the whole world will collapse into some kind of freakish, debt seeded black hole that will kill you and your family, now, RIGHT NOW, if we don’t give these useless, tax evading bastards your hard earned bucks to clean up their pillaging of the US financial markets and to make sure that they get their fat, multimillion dollar rewards for ineptitude and failure (known as severance packages).

The Mad Emperor Bush, a greedy, self serving war criminal who’s taken a bigger dump on his country, its Constitution and its people than you’d find in a warehouse full of German scheiße porn, is now attempting to prove that he is also bat-shit crazy by announcing the following soundbite:

“I believe that good policy is not to dump [president-elect Obama] a major catastrophe his first day of office.”

So, the man that has illegally invaded a sovereign foreign nation, caused the death of hundreds of thousands of people including innocent women and children as well as his fellow Americans, destroyed millions of lives, ruined our standing in the world and strained our economy to breaking by funneling every dollar into his friends businesses and pockets in the name of said war. After putting our country into great political, spiritual, moral and monetary debt, he then thinks that by giving already unemployed or struggling taxpayer’s money to some companies that were busy producing over priced, non-sustainable, gas guzzling SUVs during a war on oil while their competitors were successfully building hybrids and more efficient cars not only is good policy but will avert a major catastrophe?
